Our Curriculum

Elim Children’s Center uses Learn Every Day [2-3 yrs / 4-5 yrs]. This curriculum is designed to prepare your child, toddler – preschool to start school prepared, excited, and eager to learn.

Learn Every Day [2-3 yrs / 4-5 yrs] is a strengths-based approach that is designed in a way that children learn through play. It respects that each child is unique and at their own developmental level. It recognizes individual differences, cultures, and recognizes that families are equal partners in a child’s education.

Elim Children’s Center uses Teaching Strategies (TS) an authentic, ongoing assessment system. This tool is approved by the state of North Dakota. It is aligned with Common Core State Standards and the North Dakota Early Learning Guidelines [Birth-3; Ages 3-5].  The information gathered for TS will be used by the teachers to plan appropriate early learning experiences as well as by Child Care Aware of North Dakota to collect information to be used in acquiring state funding for early childhood. Children’s personal information is only visible to Elim Children’s Center staff and not shared with anyone without parents’ written permission.

Enrichment Activities

Chapel Services

The early preschool and preschool classes attend Chapel with the residents in the care center. Our Chaplain develops weekly children’s lessons to enhance their daily classroom Bible study.

Resident Activities

All three of the classrooms participate in planned resident activities. These activities are planned by the Elim Care case managers and include baking, bingo, playing ball, delivering mail, and creative projects. Along with the planned activities there are many moments of spontaneous fun between the residents and children.

TNT Tumble Tots

Every other week a coach from TNT Kids Fitness and Gymnastics comes to the center. The early preschool and preschool classes learn about the importance of being active while exploring obstacle courses and learning new games.

Music with Ms. Anne

Ms. Anne is a national certified school music teacher who shares her talents with us every other week. The children love the props she brings and are always excited to try new instruments.
