Our Teachers – The best of the best
The teachers at Elim Children’s Center do what’s best for each individual child, meeting them at their developmental level and building on that to encourage them to grow and learn. They understand that high-quality child care and early learning opportunities can make a positive difference for the future of your child.
Ms. Angie | 2.5 year olds – 3.5 year olds
- Diploma of Occupational Proficiency in Child & Adult Care and Education from St. Cloud Technical and Community College
- CDA – Toddler
Ms. Angie joined our team in 2014. She came to us with several years of previous experience and we just knew she’d be a great fit. She plans thoughtful age appropriate activities. One of my favorites is when her group takes their shoes off to slip and slide on waxed paper for the unit on Hockey during the winter.
Favorite activity: Looking for bugs outside! It is something that all of the kiddos enjoy during the warmer months. It’s great to see them going from a being hesitant to picking up earth worms and ladybugs!
Ms. Kelly| 2 year olds
- B.S. – Child Development and Family Science from North Dakota State University | Elementary Education Degree from Valley City State
Ms. Kylie joined the team in January 2017 as the early preschool teacher. Upon meeting her you can see that she is a natural teacher. She loves to have fun with her group with the Weekend Dance every Friday!
Favorite Activity: Kylie loves hands on projects! From teaching her group about measuring by creating inchworms to colorful open-ended art using a variety of materials. One look in her classroom and you can see masterpieces hung on the wall or adorning the shelves.
- B.S. – Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead
- CDA – to be completed Fall 2018
Ms. Laura has been working with children for over 20 years. She joined our team in 2008 as the preschool teacher. Ms. Laura is always ready for an adventure with her group! Whether it’s going for a nature walk around the neighborhood or creating 3-D art with clay. She is awesome at incorporating open-ended art. Letting the preschoolers use their imaginations to create.
Favorite Activity: There’s rarely a day that goes by that Laura’s group isn’t marching around their classroom with instruments. Laura’s favorite activity is music and it definitely rubs off on her group. They are often heard singing in the hallway, outside, or while playing in their classroom.

Laura began her career in early childhood education in 2000 as the preschool teacher at Elim Children’s Center. In 2008, she transitioned from being in the classroom to the director position. She still considers herself a teacher and spends time every day in each classroom. Laura opens the center each morning and values the chance greet the children and their families. While Laura still considers herself a teacher she has a passion for leading. She is involved in area early childhood organizations and is always striving to go the extra mile to ensure the children at Elim Children’s Center are receiving the best care and early learning experiences available.
